Why We’ve Joined the #TogetherForHospice Campaign

At Insurance Corporation, we believe in supporting causes that truly make a difference. That’s why we are proud to stand alongside Jersey Hospice Care for their ‘Together for the Hospice’ campaign - raising £100,000 in just 72 hours to provide specialist, compassionate care for islanders facing life-limiting conditions and their loved ones.

But for us, this initiative is more than just a fundraising effort. It’s deeply personal.

A Personal Story – Why Hospice Care Matters

One of our team members at Insurance Corporation, Jas, knows first-hand just how vital Jersey Hospice Care’s support is. She shares her story:

On the 6th of November 2024, my father-in-law, John, sadly passed away from cancer, just eight months after his diagnosis. The moment we received the devastating news that his condition was terminal Jersey Hospice Care became an essential part of our journey. Their nurses visited frequently, not only providing exceptional medical care but also offering comfort, support, and even a shoulder to cry on - not just for him, but for our entire family.

During these months, we were able to create cherished memories together, including one last family holiday to France - a moment I will treasure forever.

As his health declined, John shared his wish to spend his final days at Clarkson House, a place of peace and dignity. We were grateful to make that wish a reality. During his final two days, the Hospice team cared for him with such respect and compassion - ensuring he was comfortable, supporting us as a family, and going above and beyond in ways we will forever be grateful for. They arranged for his fingerprints to be taken, encouraged us to rest, made sure we ate, and checked on us constantly. Their kindness knew no bounds.

So, when we heard about #TogetherForHospice, there was no question - we had to be involved.”

Jersey Hospice Care’s Together for Hospice campaign runs from Friday 7 March until noon on Monday, 10 March. During this time, every donation - up to £50,000 - will be matched by generous funders, effectively doubling the impact of every pound raised.
