Jasmine Flaherty achieves ACII Chartered Insurer status

ICCI has a strong history in supporting professional qualifications and allowing our team to ‘grow their own career’ and I am absolutely delighted to see Jas achieving her ACII Chartered Insurer status. Chartered status is the hallmark of professional excellence. The hard work and dedication needed to obtain ACII status should not be underestimated and is testament to Jas’s dedication since joining us in January 2022 to completing the Dip CII and the Advanced Dip CII to enhance her technical knowledge.

We spoke to Jas to find out more about her experience during the ACII process…

What is your role at ICCI and how long have you worked for the company?

I joined ICCI in January 2022 as the SME Team Leader. My initial focus was on delivering our SME proposition and providing brokers with a trading platform that offers the ability to instantly quote, and bind covers with ease and efficiency. I’m passionate about delivering high-quality customer service, so it’s been rewarding to see our new distribution channel offer brokers not just speed and convenience, but also the benefit of our local expertise.

Over the past two years, I’m proud to say we’ve successfully launched five commercial products and one personal lines product. My role now continues to centre on enhancing our current product suite and expanding the range of products available online.

What has the process been regarding gaining ACII status, and what does it mean?

Gaining the ACII status involved completing five modules, each consisting of three assignments. I selected Advanced Underwriting, Risk Management in Insurance, Advances in Strategic Risk Management in Insurance, Marketing Insurance Products and Services, and Strategic Underwriting. These topics were highly relevant to my daily role and helped broaden my knowledge of the insurance industry. All the modules were study-text based and assessed through coursework. The Advanced Diploma offers an in-depth understanding that builds on the foundations established in the Diploma, significantly expanding my expertise in the field.

Have you enjoyed the opportunity to develop your career whilst working at ICCI? What support have you received?

I've greatly appreciated the opportunity to advance my career while working at ICCI. The company has been incredibly supportive during my studies, offering study days that allowed me to fully focus on each module. This support has been crucial in maintaining a healthy balance between my studies and daily responsibilities, enabling me to dedicate the necessary time to my professional development.

What does achieving ACII status mean to you?

Gaining ACII status is a significant milestone for me, as I'm passionate about expanding my knowledge and embracing new challenges. After completing my Diploma, earning the ACII was a natural next step. I'm incredibly proud to have achieved this qualification, and I would strongly encourage anyone in the industry to pursue their learning and development through the ACII programme.

What are your plans and career ambitions moving forward?

Moving forward, I’m excited to continue challenging myself, and my next goal is to achieve Fellowship status. While I plan to take a short break before pursuing this, I’m looking forward to embracing this new challenge in the near future.
