ICCI Claims Team jointly wins the 'Storm Trooper' award at the Insurance Institute of Jersey annual dinner!

We are thrilled to announce that our exceptional Claims Team at Insurance Corporation (ICCI) jointly won the inaugural 'Storm Trooper' prize at this year’s Chartered Insurance Institute of Jersey (IIJ) Annual Dinner, held on Friday, 6 September. This award recognises a local team that went above and beyond in response to the devastating impact of Storm Ciaran.

Our Claims Team faced an extraordinary challenge when Storm Ciaran struck, but their hard work, dedication, and commitment to delivering top-notch service truly shone through. We are immensely proud of the way they stepped up during and after the storm, working tirelessly to support our customers in their time of need.

A Team Like No Other

ICCI’s Claims Team is a small yet powerful force, consisting of just seven highly experienced and qualified individuals. Typically, they handle thousands of claims each year across the islands, but during the week following Storm Ciaran, they faced an extraordinary volume - processing the equivalent of four months’ worth of claims in just one week, while still managing non-storm-related claims. Let that sink in for a moment.... four months of work condensed into seven days.

Despite some team members being personally affected by the storm, each person worked tirelessly to ensure that islanders received the support they needed. Many of them cancelled personal plans and holidays to be there for our customers, demonstrating their dedication to both the business and the community.

Rising to the Challenge 

Storm Ciaran caused widespread damage, particularly in Jersey, where a tornado left homes, businesses, and cars in ruins. Our Claims Team not only rose to the occasion but went the extra mile. Whether it was coordinating with local and UK loss adjusters or authorising emergency repairs, they made sure no claim was left unattended.

Throughout the crisis, the team maintained strong relationships with local advocates, repairers, and suppliers, ensuring a swift and efficient claims process. Their ability to work under immense pressure while maintaining service excellence is a testament to their professionalism and community spirit.
